Well, it’s past April Fools, and my birthday is at the end of the month.
It’s time to try something new. So geekforce is reaching out to generate some new content, and garner more traffic.
In the broad strokes, here’s what we’d like to do. We want geeks to cover travel for geeks. Travel for geeks by geeks.
We all do travelling for business, we need to spend time in other’s datacenters, perhaps in the belly of a city, bringing up new services.
We dont care about the hotel, or any spa, we want to know from other geeks that have been there, what’s in that city - what are the easiest ways to get around, what is culture like from a technology standpoint. Outside of a Starbucks, where can we find good wifi hotspots? Or maybe we are paranoid, and just want an ethernet jack to plug into. Are there good micro-breweries available?
These are things only a geek would know.
The bottom line is that we are looking for geeks that are travelling for business or pleasure, who are willing to publish, on geekforce, a geeks perception of where ever it is you’ve ended up.
if you are doing some travelling, and would be willing to publish a travelogue and some photos, we’d love it. So, contact me (debut-nospam(at)geekforce-nospam.com - without the -nospam) include in your mail your destination, and approximate duration of stay, and Ian and I will consider it, if we like your proposal, we’ll set up a user for you on geekforce, and away you go.
Thanks very much, and we look forward to hearing from you.
Dave
