Peter Tosh Weighs In - ‘Bush Doctor’ (1978)

Peter Tosh will probably forever be remembered more as Bob Marley’s bassist during the sixties and seventies than he’ll ever be known as a solo artist.

His powerfully strong aspirations and convictions toward the legalization of marijuana endures as his most striking memory. Performing early on as a VERY vocal activist in the then (and now) messed up Jamacian political scene, he’s a legend in that he pulled it off.PB250004.JPG Continue reading ‘Peter Tosh Weighs In - ‘Bush Doctor’ (1978)’

Latin. Batanga.

The streaming music that’s on this or any computer/PC often originates from one program direction or team, singularly capturing the music genre that emanates from that place.

The Internet radio channel Batanga, totaling 10 or so streams, originates all over the place, and its programming is comprised of music of Latin regions (occasionally including Spain), and categorizes them into ’sub’ stream channels.IMGP1788.JPG

The Mighty RADIOHEAD Weighs In - ‘The Bends’ (’95)

I’ve got all Radiohead’s studio work, which, if I recall, is six albums. Recorded music’s most grindingly beautiful music emanates from each one of them. Continue reading ‘The Mighty RADIOHEAD Weighs In - ‘The Bends’ (’95)’

‘Meanwhile, I was STILL Thinking’..

…was actually a T Rex lyric from 1967 song, “Bang a Gong”, WAY before REO swiped it– conveniently after young (and late) Mr. Bolin’s copyright exprired.

Let’s get it straight, Gentlemen, ‘lest the entire world goes starkly mad.Pic044

IMGP0822It’s been forty years since this band recorded; they actually made a recent comeback of sort by touring the S. California and W. Coast area in small venues. Continue reading ‘Canned Heat Weighs In — (Well, Canned Heat)’

Euclid Records and Webster Records, Webster Groves, MO

It’s a delight and a rather good fortune to have this group here. The main anchor of this groups retail record sales volume formerly came from their location in U City (the Loop), and this special corner-building store front here in Webster matches up entirely. Music that I Miss

IMGP0380.JPGIt’s all ripped. 19-point-something days, EXCEPT my Radiohead and, though I don’t know how this can be, my Smashing Pumpkins. Most music gets better with age, and I speak the truth when I say that absence make the heart grow fonder! iTunes has made the World a better place.

W. A. Mozart Weighs In — Requiem in D Minor (1789)

Pic031Mozart wrote this masterpiece, a five-vocal rotation in front of a full orchestra hastily. That he pulled it off while simultaneously writing the crowning moments of his best opera ‘The Magic Flute’, and understandably under a smidgen of duress, speaks loudly for his composing talent. Bob Dylan Weighs In –’Oh Mercy’ (1989)

Pic009This is the one, folks. To put this statement into perspective, allow me, unbragging-ly, to share from whence/where I come, Dylan’s music-wise. Continue reading ‘Bob Dylan Weighs In –’Oh Mercy’ (1989)’
