Roger’s the patriarch engineer here at work. I have learned to sit by him while he scoops lunch out of his Tupperware container and ‘talks shop’ for thirty-five minutes straight. This, I have found, is THE BEST way to learn about propellants, cans, cartons, legend production shifts, who all had to be dragged out of the plant via a stretcher, what things used to be done RIGHT that are now WEIRD, what things used to be WEIRD that are now RIGHT, what bones tumble out of closets in the front admin building, what bones DON’T EVER seem to tumble out of our area, who to like, who NOT to like, who to fear……but I haven’t yet heard him explain why he’s worked here as long as he has beeen.  He assuredly has banked a ton of money fixing and designing stuff so the company can keep cranking out product like it does. Some guys just play for the love of the game; 1968 was a very long time ago.
