The National Center for Family Patterns Research is a privately funded social science lab that gathers information that is specific to learning factors, patterns, and risk factors relative to the U.S. marriage rate trends, number of children in families by ethnicicity and locale, and a host of others. It’s not particularily easy to examine, nor is it user friendly.
The Center gathers quite a bit, but not all, of the data directly from the decade-interval U.S. Census. The census, though it’s not, must be regarded as factual demographic quanititive information. Continue reading ‘Washington’s ‘Center for Family Patterns Research’’

I retract my decision to emigrate to Kampala, Uganda, in the Spring of ‘08. There’s too much still to get done here. I steadfastly, though, refuse to watch very much TV except, say, once in awhile or when I’m with friends watching movies. It slows my brain down and I don’t like that sensation very much. Further, I won’t have to spend a staggering fortune to come here and visit my kids and their future kids. On the other hand, getting gouged by the U.S. Tax Code, gasoline prices and stuff, I may be better off flying to central Africa once a year and having enough change left over to by a couple of DVD’s to watch. I hope I’m not screwing up.
