iPod & bicycling

124-2423_IMGSo, I bought an iPod Nano. No, I didn’t get the 8GB one. I got the blue one.

I took it with me on my 30 mile ride on Grants Trail. I have mixed feelings about it. I think its dangerous to ride with it.

But it did help my ride. I was so focussed on music, I stopped paying attn to my legs. They fell into a wonderful cadence that I could have kept all day… That was different. For anyone that knows me, you know that I push myself hard. This is good and bad. Its good because I advance quickly. It’s bad because my muscles are damned tired, and you know - my legs really hurt.

So, having the music helped me to mellow my cadence, and that made for a easier ride all around.

The biggest drawback if I may say is that the earbuds dont fit in my ear well. They kept falling out during the ride. This constant distraction is bad. I think I’ll tape them to my face next time, and see if that helps.

Yet again, I’m foiled by some physical deformity. Damn it to hell. It’s not BOTH ears - its ONE ear - my right ear. I’m not pitching a fit at Apple here, I’m just saying for crying out loud, I’m down, by one hip here! Do I really need to added ear discrepancy?
