Well, you cant really tell, but I haven’t posted in a while.
I’ve built a completely new infrastructure for geekforce.com. It feels good.
I’ve been laid off again, and subsequently started to do some freelance contracting doing networking for small businesses. It was good work. Then i got hired on full time by one of my clients.
So these days, my professional life is windows. My private life is Mac and UNIX.
My girlfriend broke up with me after two years. So, I’m looking…
Anyway, I just finished doing the programming and migration for my companys’ new website. I think it’s about the nest work I’ve done. It took WAAAY longer than I wanted because I had to make my code interoperate with the legacy code. That was no fun.
Aside: Boy do i like OLD New Order…
So, I’ve spent the last week trying to get my head around how the management panels need to look. And now i have a really nice long break.
At any rate, I’ve learned alot about Active Directory, and WSUS, and other Windwos type services, etc.
I’ll be posting more about these later.
Thank you.
Merry Christmas to all!
Today is the Winter Solstice! The Sun has descended into the South, making the days short here in the Northern latitudes. This is a day of respite and is meant for rest and reflection, especially considering what we were up too last night…ehem.

Last Friday at my office, the folks who work on the 5th floor had one of those “team building” exercises. You know the type, everyone brings in food, the company hires a massage therapist to give chair massages, and then a nice little presentation on working synergistically or some such….blargh.
I wasn’t invited, because my office is on the 4th floor.
One of the people took digital snapshots of the whole thing, and in the spirit of teamwork, assembled them all into one PDF and emailed it to the whole floor.
The final document ended up being 32MB in size, which filled up everyone’s mailbox, which prevented them from sending any mail. Nice way to start the work week.
Teamwork.
Next time you use one of those self check out machines at the grocery, try it in Spanish. It’s more fun, and it makes the other people in line scratch their heads.
