Mars and Internet “Crushes”, and other babble

Since I seem to have monopolized the postings here for the past few months, might as well babble on some more. Dave? Monty? Did you forget how to post or something? yoo hoo, it’s your website calling, over here!

Mars
Ok, I was pretty sure that those geeks over at JPL were going to announce that they had found evidence of life, and was only mildy surprised when they only came up with evidence of water. Cool, I like water. Little green men are cool too, but water will work for the moment.
During this whole process I kept up to date with the Flight Directors Update, a daily feed in RealMedia format, annouced by the flight director.

I would get up in the morning, turn on the computer, and letJessica fill me in on what was happening. The other day the person doing the webcast changed. I don’t get to see Jessica anymore, it’s this other guy, who is just as competent, but no where near as perky. Geek chicks are cool.

Internet “Crushes”
That last bit of blather illustrates pretty well what I have come to refer to as Internet “crushes”. While the reports of Internet “Infidelity” and the popularity of online singles sites as the new happenin’ scene seem to be hitting the mainstream, the simple idea of a “crush”, the temporary love of adolescence, seems to have been eclipsed.
